Tap into 100% solar power with no installation required. Whether you own a home or rent, you can now take advantage of solar power with no upfront costs. When you sign up for the Local Solar plan, Green Mountain Energy will purchase Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) from solar parks in Texas. During bad weather, the energy amount to supply your home will continue to come from the energy grid. Additional RECs will be purchased to make sure your total energy usage remains 100% solar-generated.
100% Renewable Wind Energy Plan
When you sign up for the Pollution Free with a smart lighting kit, you will receive a smart lighting kit that will help you reduce your energy usage. The LED lightbulbs use 80% less energy than incandescent bulbs. The smart lights can be controlled from your smartphone so whether you’re on vacation or out to dinner, you can turn on your lights to give the appearance you’re home. This energy plan will include 100% wind power to completely offset your carbon footprint.
